Sometimes it’s the littlest things that make us happy. I had a very productive writing day over the weekend. I’m still fixing my sins as a pantser, but I can say it’s coming along nicely and a much better book than the first draft. Yes, I know second looks and second drafts usually are, but getting past this stage is always a hurtle for me. I do much better once I’ve had a little time/distance away from the first draft. So I’m doing my own little happy dance that it’s going along at a decent pace and I plan to be done by the weekend.
On the other hand, some days are just meant to be stay in bed days. Today is one for me. I’d much rather stay in bed, read a book, eat junk food, watch soap operas and generally not think about anything. But it’s Monday, I’m the mom and must drag my be-hind out of the bed, check, get dressed, check, get oldest off to school, check, wake up little one and get her ready, not quite there yet, but of course it’s what’ll I do next before I head out the door for the day. Today would be my dad’s birthday and I guess some days are just harder than others.
