I have felt horrible all week. I got nothing done writing wise to speak of, other than a few things straight in my brain. We have a new schedule in our house, which while I like it, it takes some getting used to, especially with a three year old who does not sleep much at all. Middle school is off to a good start, which brings me to my topic. The oldest is a good reader, but she doesn’t love to read. She’s in gifted for both English and Reading as it is the only subjects her school currently has gifted programs for. She’s new to public schools, but we have been very pleased and she said she thinks English and Reading might offer her some challenge this year, which would be first.
I was in B&N yesterday to take care of some business for the upcoming Readers Luncheon. While there I felt obligated to buy something. And since my TBR mountain takes up more space than I care to admit, I thought I’d buy the oldest two more summer reading books. She’s read two she owned already, but never read, because, well she loves books, just not reading so much. So I plunked down twenty bucks for two books I know I already own, but am assuming they are in the attic, since I’ve done a whole house search for them. I got her my favorite Judy Blume and S.E. Henton books. These two books are what started my love of books. Funny thing I never realized or remembered the Judy Blume book is in first person. Of course if she doesn’t start them soon I might have to read them first.
